LOST 316 & John 316

LOST Season 5 Episode 6 was entitled "316."  The flight that took the Oceanic 5 + Ben and Frank back to the island was Ajira Airways Flight 316.

The obvious Biblical reference is John 3:16 probably the most famous Bible verse. 

John 3:16
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

This verse is one of the summaries of the gospel of Jesus Christ.  Through Christ's atoning death on the cross, people have the opportunity to have their sins forgiven and have eternal life.  Here's a more in depth look at the gospel.

Romans 3:23
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"

Proverbs 14:12
There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."

John 14:6
"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

I John 5:11-12

Romans 10:9-10
That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.
